Dear principal
You have brought it to my attention that you are thinking of making a longer school day but you will ban homework, however, I do not believe you should do this because of these reasons.
First off, keeping homework and getting home earlier would let kids have more time with their family when they get home. Since the average amount of homework isn’t meant to take very long, then they would have less time working on school and more time with their family.
Secondly, if you kept homework then they would remember what they were learning in class more because they spread out the time you are working. Also if they are having trouble focusing in class because it is too loud or there are too many people then working on it from home would help.
In conclusion, I think you should keep homework and NOT make the school day longer.
Hi Solly
ReplyDeleteGreat structure in your letter as you have introduced your reason for writing, followed by your points before concluding. I think you have given some valid points especially the one about spending more time with your family as this would be important to me too.
Next time it would be great to see another point or idea backing up your view of having homework rather than extending the school day to give more support to your argument.
I look forward to seeing more of your detailed work, keep it up!
Mrs Ealam
