10 food items

For the summer learning journey we were asked to make a list of 10 things we would bring on a 3 week sea voyage. Here is my list of food items.

1. Potatoes- Because they last a long time without refrigeration and give carbohydrates
2. Crackers- easy snack won’t go off
3. Beans- gives protein and energy 
4. Nut bars-tasty and filling
5. Apples-fruit provides juice and vitamins
6. Nuts -easy snack protein
7. Peanut butter- to put on crackers
8. carrots - good for you
9. Milk powder- can be made into milk with rain water
10. Cereal- good breakfast food

     

Mannequin challenge

For a fun class activity we did something called the mannequin challenge. The mannequin challenge is where the people on film stay still and the camera man moves around. Here are some of the ones we did. Hope you enjoy!

Camp

Phone conversation

For the up coming pet day we had to have a fake conversation with our pet on your phone. I absolutely loved creating this conversation but mostly creating my pet's response. My next step would probably be making a longer conversation.

We have been working on our Mihi's first we had to write them out on a document then we had to copy and paste that onto a slide show. Once we put it on a slide show then we did a screencastify of us reading it out then posted it our blog.

Book Report

 For the holidays we have been asked to make a book report. I did my book report on  the wings of fire  graphic novel. Here it is!

Anzac poem

We have been studying Anzac day. We read the poem Flanders Fields then we had to right our own Anzac related poem.  We based our poem on this picture. Here is my poem hope you enjoy.

I must reload my gun in order to survive if not I shall surely die in this war field I see my companions beside me helping me survive in this world *BANG* I fire a shot which I’m almost positive missed and now I must reload again I promised my family I’d come home but now I wonder….. Can I keep my promise?

Food is scarce for everyone, I wonder if I will eat at all. Each day I wonder if it is my last day to live This battle is mean, mercyless and day by day I see more of my people drop down to never get up again


Once again I fire a shot but to be honest I don’t want it to hit, I don’t want it to end a person's life or injure someone badly some of my companions fight while others try to sleep although I fear they won’t wake up.

Today I fight the next i’ll sleep still weary of death although at this point I do not care if I fight tonight, or tomorrow I dare throughout this war we all think one thing will I live or will I fail.

My diorama

We have been studying the One and Only Ivan for this we have made a diorama with what we think Ivan should live in. Here it is.

Rabbits

We have been lucky enough to have 2 rabbits come into our classroom. We had to try and make them an obstacle course. We go into groups to make them, my group consisted of 3 people Sophie, Tahlia and Me. We made three different structures which were: some jumps, a gigantic tunnel and a little den with food in it. 


The colour of the tunnel was green, brown and black. It was just made of 3 cardboard boxes taped together. before we put it in with the rabbits we put hay in it so it would look nicer to them.


Another thing that we made was some jumps. For the first one we got two toilet roles and stuck a cub ab stick through them so it would stay up for the rabbits to jump. For the second jump we used four plastic cups, a cub ab stick and some stones. We taped the 2 plastic cups together then stuck the cub ab stick through them, and for the final step we put some stones in the cups so they wouldn't fall over when the rabbits jumped over them.

The final thing we made was a place for them to hide in. We cut a door out of a cardboard box and pined it back then put some food in it. and that all we did for the house.

Cincinnati Zoo disaster

In Cincinnati Zoo A gorilla was shot because a little boy fell in. We had to write about if we think they should have killed it or tranquillised it. Here is my answer.

Do you know about gorillas, and how they’re endangered? In Cincinnati Zoo a gorilla got shot because one little boy fell in the enclosure. In my opinion they should not have killed the gorilla.

In my eyes they should not of killed the gorilla, they should of tranquillised it instead of killing it. Before you make one more gorilla in the world perish, you should think if there is any other solutions.

Another solution is to distract it. They could of sent down food or a gorilla doll beating its chest or something while people come down on ropes and grab the boy and then heave him to safety, I MEAN REALLY COME ON IT'S NOT THAT HARD.

Another thing is if they shot it then it might land on the child and crushed him. The damage could be very, very severe. Or maybe it could be heavy enough to have crushed him so hard the it killed him, I mean it’s possible.

Also gorillas are endangered (which means there aren’t many left) so tell me why, WHY IN THE WHOLE WORLD WOULD YOU SHOOT AND KILL THE GORILLA INSTEAD OF TRANQUILLISING IT. Let me get this straight you take a Gorilla from the jungle, it’s natural habitat, put it in a cage and just because a little boy falls in then you kill it. I live in a messed up world.

In Cincinnati Zoo a gorilla was shot because a stupid little boy fell in. Instead I think they should of tranquilize the gorilla, or distracted it but when they shot it they were running the risk of the gorilla falling on the little boy. Still the main thing is GORILLAS ARE ENDANGERED and there was a better solution!

We could choose  any question we wanted as long as you could solve it with data. My question was what is your favourite colour. Then room 2 answered it.

We have just been up fronted with the task to make three Kawa of care statements with super heroes saying them😑. Here is my one enjoy.
