10 food items

For the summer learning journey we were asked to make a list of 10 things we would bring on a 3 week sea voyage. Here is my list of food items.


  1. Potatoes- Because they last a long time without refrigeration and give carbohydrates
  2. Crackers- easy snack won’t go off
  3. Beans- gives protein and energy 
  4. Nut bars-tasty and filling
  5. Apples-fruit provides juice and vitamins
  6. Nuts -easy snack protein
  7. Peanut butter- to put on crackers
  8. carrots - good for you
  9. Milk powder- can be made into milk with rain water
  10. Cereal- good breakfast food

    Welcome to the Summer Learning Journey.My name is Allie and I am part of the team that will be reading your blog over the summer. You have made a great start to the programme with you list of items that you would take on your voyage.
    Great to see that you have really though about the challenge and given us a good reason for taking each item.
    I think the only thing that I would add to your list would be water. You would need lots of water to drink and to cook with. Just in case it doesn't rain.
    I am really looking forward to reading more of your work over the summer. Keep up the great work Solly.

    It's Allie from the SLJ team. You made such a good start to the Summer Learning Journey but I haven’t seen any posts from you in a while! It would be really cool to see you come back and do a few more activities! Remember you don’t have to do the activities in order! You can have a look through them all and decide which ones you like the look of!
