First we all had to write a list of descriptive words to try to explain how we want the tree house to look. We were allowed to add things inside the treehouse. Here is the tree hosue I created for one of my class mates.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2669151571218613152.post-17510943404809643772021-11-08T10:30:00.000+13:002021-11-08T10:30:38.128+13:00Diwali
Diwali is a festival which focusses on coming together and family. The box had 2 options either we go to the movies or we go to the pool. I beilive that we should go to the pool, and here is why.

To The Pool!

I firmly believe that room 6 should go the the aquatic paradise that is the greymouth pool, instead of the brain rotting movies or a game of wack a tiny ball with a stick! Did you know that swimming is one of the best ways to get fit? I think that we should go to the greymouth swimming pool because of these reasons: swimming is good for your health, the swimming pool has much more opportunity than any of the other options and because WE WILL GO ON STRIKE OTHERWISE!

The reason that I think we should go to the swimming pool is because it is healthy for you. We will be exercising the whole time that we are there! We will be getting fit and become more and more healthy by the minute. We will be burning of fat and will be having a great time while we do it! We will no longer be get tired quickly because we will have incredible endurance. You do want us to be fit and healthy don’t you? Instead of us being fat slow and unhealthy it that really what you want for us. If we were fat slow and unhealthy then we would always be late to class because of how slow we are, if we are at the back of the field then it will take us around 20 minutes to get back to class because of how fat and slow we might get if we don’t go swimming. Also ryan you could come along and you could get fit at the swimming pool with us!

The next reason that we should go to the swimming pool is that there is so much more options on what you could do! You could go play in the cold but big pool, or you could play in the nice warm but sallow pool. Then of course you could go on the extremely fun and extra awesome HYDRO SLIDES!! If you are in to diving then you could go to the deep pool and dive or pop manus or do pencils. Also in that wonderful deep pool there are big inflatables which you could hang out and talk on or you could jump around on or try to get everyone else of the inflatables rafts and these are just some of the options in one of the pools when there are two pools! Plus HYDRO SLIDES! For instance the hydro slides have many different options you could race your friends down or you could spin around on your way down! Next in the warm pool you could just relax inthe warm water or you could play volley ball! Ryan you could have so many choices if you came along with us but first you just have to make the right choice and try and tell Miss Wilson that we should go to the Greymouth swimming pool.

The final reason that I think you should let us go to the pool is because otherwise we will go on STRIKE. We will go on strike and not do any work until we go to the pool! We will vandalise many different things throughout the school, we will dig up the bike track and we will tear everything of the classroom walls. Also we will of course not complete ANY thing you want us to. We will be as loud as possible we will disturb other classrooms we will leave school grounds and riot all through the street! We will be as annoying as possible to as many people as possible people will be coming to the school complaining that all their door knobs are gone and they saw a bunch of kids with a drill running off! Thats right you heard me, we will go throughout ahaura and steal everyone door knobs! Still think we should watch a movie? Ryan, you should come with us you would be really great at stealing door knobs! You could even shut of peoples electricity.

In conclusion I believe we should go to greymouth swimming pool. I believe this because it is great for everyone's health, It has more opportunity than any of the other places, and if we don’t go the greymouth swimming pool then the swimming group will go on STRIKE.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2669151571218613152.post-90716803344753824932021-11-03T12:57:00.001+13:002021-11-03T12:57:05.782+13:00Persuasive writing
There is a box in room 6 and we have to write a persuasive piece of writing to convince our teacher to open. I have three reasons why I beilive our teacher should open the box.

A mysterious red box lies still in room 6...

I strongly believe that the box should be opened! I have three strong paragraphs on why you should open the box: it would be fun to open the box, we will go on strike otherwise and it will motivate us to do more work.Bye the end of this pice of writing I will make sure you open that box! Don’t believe me? keep reading and I will prove you wrong, I Will persuade you to open that box.

First reason is that I believe that you want to open that box because whats the fun in just leaving the box closed whats fun about having a random box in the classroom just collecting dust. However if we open it which I think you want to do then it will be a nice surprise for the class. We will all have a nice surprise because I do believe that there is something good in that box. You don’t seem like the kind of person to prank the whole class, even after we did this piece of writing to try and convince you to open it. Because I think you want to open it.

Another reason that you should open that box is because if you don’t open the box then we will go on strike! If no one else is motivated then I will persuade the rest of the class to strike. We will not do any work until the box has been opened. Even after we have done this writing if you refuse to open the box it will be an outrage. We will not complete any work until we have decided to open the box. Next we will turn to the side of vandalism the school building will be littered with all kinds of crude drawings and words do you really want that to happen? So you SHOULD open the box!!

Finally that box being opened will give us a little reward for this work we are completing, it will inspire us to do more things like this because we might get a reward once we have finished our writing. It will inspire us to put hard work into our pieces of writing. However if you don’t open that box many of us will will feel like we have done this writing for nothing. If you don’t open that box it could start a wave of a bunch of students not putting in their best work. It could start a wave of bare minimum work being completed. So you SHOULD ope the box

In conclusion you should open the box otherwise we will go on strike, and some students might not do their best work, AND to be fair whats the point of a gift if you don’t open it? This is why you should open the box, I recommend that you listen because don’t forget we can STRIKE!
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2669151571218613152.post-50979751306017632532021-11-03T12:54:00.002+13:002021-11-03T12:54:08.936+13:00100 words challenge again
I enjoyed the first 100 word challenge that I did so I am back with another one. I have based this 100 word challenge of a different picture, I hope you enjoy it!

Through the forest I wander not knowing where to go nor where I came from. Just as I’m about to give up and sit down while I wait for help I hear a tiny voice say “follow meeeeee” alarmed I stand up quickly and look around, I see a tree. Something different though: the tree has a door in the side of it. I stumble of towards it hungry and tired. Inside the tree I see a bed and food. wearily I go inside watching everything suspiciously. I look back and see that door is gone “were are YOU going?”

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2669151571218613152.post-35904124247263231772021-11-03T12:51:00.003+13:002021-11-03T12:51:57.805+13:00100 word challenge
The 100 word challenge is where we have to base our writing on a picture and then we have to write exactly 100 words telling a story around the picture. Then just as quickly as she saw it, it disappeared. Pertrisha couldn’t help herself she had to know what that figure in the fog was! She looked around for any sign of the ghostly figure, then when she looked down the road again it was there, and it didn’t look like it had any intentions of moving. The figure was a still as a boulder in the middle of this lonely forest. Then to break the silence *crack*... “I see you there”.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2669151571218613152.post-35143465650992748032021-11-03T12:49:00.005+13:002021-11-03T12:49:52.901+13:00Free write
Free write is one of my favourite thing to do in class. It allows you to write the kind of story you enjoy writin the most. So without further ado here is my free write!

The creature

Simon leaped through the front door with extreme excitement “I’m all done with my chores” he called back to his mother “ok” sounded back a bored sounding voice. Simon’s favourite thing to do was go exploring in the bush and his mother knew it.

Simon decided on a direction to explore in and set of with a sparkle in his eyes. Deeper and deeper he pushed into the tall bush. Something seemed off though, his whole life he had been exploring the bush and it had always been bright and full of life but this time the few creatures he could see didn't seem happy, they seemed terrified. Simon assumed they were just spooked by his presence and pushed on, but the further he got into this seemingly dark part of the bush he noticed that he could walk right past animals and they would just be keeping a lookout for something else. Simon got bad vibes from this place and decided he should explore a different part of the bush. He started to head back but then he saw all the animals running into their hiding spots and staying as still as possible, whatever they had been afraid of was here. Simon thought it wise to do the same as the animals and darted behind a tree. Simon’s heart was beating fast now “what could they be so afraid of?” he thought to himself. He peeked a look around the tree and saw that one rodent like creature was out in the open looking around for whatever was scaring them. A huge sound came from the other side of the tree he was hiding behind, it was a huge crashing sound, the sound of something massive tearing through the bush. Simon watched as a creature more than 5 times his size leapt at the small rodent and grabbed it in his hands. The creature was almost human shaped, but it had massive sticks growing out of its shoulders and it’s head was the shape of a sphere with large twigs growing from the side of it. It’s mouth was somewhat indented into its head and had the appearance of a short beak in some ways. The small rodent like creature in its hands appeared to be dead, probably from when the large creature leapt at it and crushed it. Simon looked away as the large creatures consumed the rodent, but as he did so he tripped over one of the roots of the tree he was behind. The large creature's head quickly snapped in the direction of the sound and then let out an ear splitting roar.

Simon knew he had blown his cover and began to stumble his way across the uneven terrain. He was somehow moving very fast, but the creature was faster. Simon knew he could not outrun the creature, he knew he would have to use his size to his advantage. As he looked around with the gigantic creature getting ever closer he noticed and old fallen tree with hollow inside, he thought his luck was too good to be true. Simon instantly bolted towards it as the creature swung its massive hand at him, he dived into to hollow log. Simon thought he was safe and let out a sigh of relief, but not 2 seconds later a huge fist flung into the log right above his head sending splinters in every direction. He quickly wriggled to the other side of the hollow log and quietly crept out of it making as little sound as possible while the massive creature continued to send fist after fist into the log. Simon slowly and quietly backed away from the log until he got behind a tree, the creature still hadn't noticed that he left the log. Simon knew this was his chance to escape, he turned around to check again that the creature was still attacking the log, but what he saw horrified him: the creature was gone. Simon didn’t know what to do he was looking around frantically for the creature but he couldn’t see it anywhere. He decided to just run for home. Through the forest he sprinted knowing that at any second the gigantic creature could pop out from anywhere. He thought he was going to make it, sure enough though that ear splitting roar came from behind him and there it was crashing through the low branches towards him, just when it was about to grab him the creature seemed to hit an invisible barrier! Simon ran right through the barrier, but everytime the creature tried to get him, but it was stopped by some kind of invisible force. Not knowing what was going on Simon just ran away, he made it all the way back to his house.

After that day Simon still went exploring in the bush, but he would always bring a knife now in case he ever needed it. Simon never saw that enormous creature again, but every night he always heard the faint roar of the huge creature.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2669151571218613152.post-31756197663261308892021-11-03T12:46:00.004+13:002021-11-03T12:46:51.315+13:00Pet day
For pet day one of our activities we had to create an informational report on the pet we are planning to bring. For my pet I brought my Guinea pig Gizmo. Here is the report on her.

Gizmo

Gizmo is the most adorable, crazy, and funny guinea pig you’ve ever met. Gizmo is the kind of guinea pig you would want to get to know( if you can avoid her razor sharp claws). This piece of writing contains information including: breed, appearance, and personality.

Gizmo’s breed has never officially been confirmed. She could actually be more than one breed, however the most likely breed which fits her appearance the best in an American guinea pig. Gizmo is similar to our other guinea pigs, which we also think are American guinea pigs. If Gizmo is not an american guinea pig then she is most likely a Cuy guinea pig. Cuy guinea pigs look similar to American guinea pigs so it’s hard to tell.

Gizmo’s Appearance is pretty plain. She has pure brown fur, in some places her fur is lighter than it is in other places. Her fur is very smooth which is one of the main factors that make us believe she is an American guinea pig, because normally American guinea pigs have smooth fur. Her fur is as brown as a chocolate bar, from her pink twitchy nose to her jumpy back legs. Her whiskers extend past the side of her head and her eyes are as black a the ocean depths. The expression on her face makes it look like she has just fell from 20 kilometres in the air. She is always looking like she has been stunned or just seen something terrifying but we know that she is always fine.

Gizmo’s personality is hilarious. She normally hangs out with her friend Fluffles who is equally crazy. Gizmo is commonly seen looking out the window from her hutch, however other times she is peacefully grazing is the grass. Thats Gizmos calm side. Other times she is speeding throughout her pen at top speed. However sometimes she is viciously devouring a carrot ( if you don’t think a guinea pig eating is vicious then you should look at it from the carrot’s perspective). Speaking of carrots, every morning the first person who steps outside is greeted by a chorus of two guinea pigs squeaking there heads of because they want food.

In conclusion Gizmo is an adorable guinea pig. Gizmo is most likely an American guinea pig, she is pure brown with a cute pink nose and petrified looking eyes. Gizmos personality can be calm and collected or crazy and uncontrolled. I called it the Arachnoid. Enjoy.

The Arachnoid

The arachnid is an all terrain vehicle built to handle anything. It can hande sandstorms or snowstorms. Along side the aspects of endurance luxury and of course transportation.

The arachnoid is extremely tough which allows it to endure many things. It wont over heat even in the hottest of climates and it will also never freeze even in the north pole! It can even handle some rocks falling on top of it. The arachnoid can handle almost any terrain! It can grip vertical wall and it can maneuver through a dense forest, it can climb over massive boulders and plow through swampy wetlands.

The Arachnoid is incredible for transportation. It can travel at speed of up to 250 mph. It can avoid crash into other cars because of its incredible agility if there is another arachnoid coming the opposite way then one just has to duck and the other has to lift higher and they will end up avoiding each other. It is so lightweight that it won’t make little dent marks in the road which makes it damage free. It can also travel on solar power and lot’s of other different environment friendly power sources.

Luxury is one of the biggest factors of the Arachnoid. The arachnoid has the latest and most luxurious air conditioning system, all side with the biggest brace springs is size ratio compared to any other vehicle which will ensure that you don’t feel any bumps even if you are stumbling over mountain in you Arachnoid. The seats have very fluffy, light padding to make it even more comfy when you are driving and the steering weel is forged from a certain material which keeps it at a comfy 20 degrees.

In conclusion the arachnoid is a extremely tough vehicle but luxurious vehicle which makes it almost heavenly to drive, and of course you can take it anywhere you want because of the transportation allowing it to travel over the toughest of terrains.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2669151571218613152.post-84966270706112331782021-05-11T10:02:00.005+12:002021-05-11T10:02:33.580+12:00Pangox
The Pangox is a made up creature. It is a fox and a Pangolin combined. For one of our writing task I wrote all about this creature form fantasy.

Pangox

The Fox is a fast quick and fierce predator, and the Pangolin is a strong defensive and calm herbivore. What would happen if they combined…?

Appearance

The Panox has a striking appearance. The Pangox has the head of a Fox but the scales of a pangolin. With the legs of a fox and the legs of a fox but the defence of a pangolin this creature could hunt with extreme confidence. The tail is just as scaly as it’s back. The scales are a dusty colour like the sand of the Sahara or the dry grass of Africa. The fur found on it’s head and legs is a lush orange and white. This hybrid is as tall as a couch and as long as a chair. The Pangox blends in well with its surroundings.

Diet

The Pangox faces many problems with its diet. Because it has the head of a predator (fox) but the digestive system of a herbivore (Pangolin). In order to be able to digest its food it must. Eat meat one day and then eats vegetation another, (for short it is a omnivore). The pangox is always one the watch, not because of predators but because it needs to spot prey, when its eating vegetation it’s never looking for predators because if something does try to attack it it can just curl into a ball and be safe(the strength of a Pangolins scales are strong enough to withstand a lions bite).

Habitat

The pangox lives in only one specific habitat. Because the Pangox is part fox it makes a den, and the best place for it to make a den is in savannas and grass lands. It lives in places with very long grass so it’s easier to sneak up on its prey. The Pangox doesn’t like the cold so it stays in warm places.

Conclusion

In conclusions the Pangox is a Pangolin mixed with a fox, it has the head and legs of a fox but the scales back and tail of a Pangolin. It is an omnivore and lives in grasslands.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2669151571218613152.post-85247681033385614232021-05-04T10:06:00.000+12:002021-05-04T10:06:41.977+12:00Red Fox
For our Information report this week I have done a report on my favourite animal the Red Fox. I hope that this report on the Red Fox will entertain and teach you something today.

Red Fox

The Red Fox is A swift agile creature. Once they are born they have a hard live ahead of them full of danger and challenges, they must face predators hunt for food and make homes for future generations.
Predators
The Red Fox has many predators, the animal that kills the most Red Foxes every year are Eagles. Eagles attack mostly cubs but sometimes attack full grown Red Foxes. Another predator that kills a lot of foxes every year are coyotes. Sometimes animals as big as bears will hunt foxes in order to get enough food.

Dens
Red Foxes make dens in almost all terrains they Build dens in desert sand and arctic snow. Foxes have special layouts to their dens: the first entrance comes down on a slow slant and halfway between the entrance of the den and the main area they have a food cache that they keep their food in. The second entrance they have is on a much more vertical angle and lead straight to the main area of the den.

Prey
Red Foxes hunt many things. They hunt bye sneaking up on their prey and then pouncing. They hunt things from Goose chicks to rabbits and Mice. For different types of prey they sometimes use different strategies. For example when they are hunting Goose chicks they have to wait until the fierce mother of the Chicks isn’t watching. When hunting rabbits they sometimes attack them while they are in the dens made of snow they creep up and then break the roof in to get to the rabbit.

Conclusion
In conclusion foxes must be careful because they have many dangerous predators, but they also have to get enough food to feed themselves and their young. They must also of course have to be clean and tidy to keep their dens clear.

Here is the writing tat I did on it. Hope you enjoy and agree with me.

We have been asked the question: Should trees be cut down? I did not hesitate to fight for not cutting down trees because of these reasons. I am strongly against cutting down trees

First of all it has been proven that trees produce oxygen, and every year 3.5 billion to 7 billion are being cut down. Yes trees produce some items that we use but would you rather have toilet paper or oxygen, I mean really? Healthy mature trees produce 260 pounds of oxygen a year, thats only enough to supply a four person family and yes oxygen weighs something it actually weighs 0.001429 of a gram per cubic meter, I bet you people who want to cut trees and don’t care about the environment didn’t know that, BECAUSE YOU DON’T CARE ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENT.

Second off Is the animals WHERE ARE THEY GOING TO LIVE???? 137 species of animals are becoming extinct every day adding up to 50 000 species are dying a year because of deforestation . Another terrifying animal slaughter fact is that 8 out of 10 land animals depend on trees the same trees we are cutting down at horrifying speed we are going to wipe out so many more species unless we stop. Wait wait wait I already know that your going to say well they can just move away especially the birds they can just fly of. My first problem with that is that not all of the animals can get away some birds might hit branches as the tree falls and get crushed and also what about baby animals like eggs chicks and anything that cant get away in time! My other problem with that is well imagine the tables are turned, your just in your your house making some breakfast they a sparrow driving a bulldozer comes and knocks your house down according to you guys it no big deal because “ oh they can just move away” right no big deal! Of course it actually is a big deal because they have to start all over again for finding shelter and finding something to eat and drink.

For my last argument It causes global warming, you wood chopping maniacs may of heard it and I also hear that some people don’t believe in global warming. To that I say WHHHAAAATTTTTT first of how and why don’t you believe in it, it has been proven that it exists. Even for you people who do believe it exist you obviously don’t care that our planet is going to become a scorching desert unless we do something about it because you are creating it every time you cut down a tree it almost seems like you want our earth to become scorching hot. If you people don’t stop then you are digging your own grave.

In conclusion you tree slicing sickos chopping down our source of oxygen by the truck load. Destroying the animals all around us with extreme speed and causing global warming. Hope your happy you are ruining our planet.

# team trees

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2669151571218613152.post-4040268717227461902020-08-21T12:14:00.007+12:002020-08-21T12:43:06.406+12:00How to make butter
We have been learning how to make butter here is my set of instructions on how to make butter. Here it is.

1. Put straight cream into a easy bottle to shake

2. Then shake up the butter cream until you can see butter and milk inside of the jar

3. Next you need to add some salt into the mix

4. Then you need to pour the milk out into a separate container than the butter then you should be all ready.

Optional

5. When you add the milk you can add herbs like thyme into the mix.

Here is a photo of me doing some stirring

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2669151571218613152.post-52417946797552851932020-08-21T09:51:00.001+12:002020-08-21T09:51:07.996+12:00Speech Board
I competed in the Speech Board Competition! My speech was about vegetarians I had three different paragraphs, in those paragraphs I went over what is it like to be a vegetarian, what vegetarians are and why you should be one. Here is my writing.

This speech is sponsored by potatoes. Many people have heard of vegetarians. Many people haven't, if you are one of the people who haven't then you're in for some information because that is the topic of my speech.

Vege-ter-ians what are they? Vegetarians are people who don’t eat meat and don’t harm animals. Strict vegetarians are vegans which means they don’t eat dairy and eggs, regular vegetarian just don’t eat meat. Most vegetarians also care about nature and trees because they don’t want to harm the animals like I said earlier.

Some people might be wondering what it is like to be a vegetarian. I think it’s great to be a vegetarian. I’ve been one all my life; I have never ever eaten a piece of meat! Some people might find it difficult at first, but I think it's worth it because it keeps you healthy. You can make up for the things you are missing from meat like iron which you can get from sesame seeds, although 2 of the highest sources of iron are black beans and red beans you also need protein which you can get from tofu and beans That’s right you can get BOTH iron and protein from beans! Some people think you won’t be strong enough if you don’t eat meat, but did you know that famous tennis player Venus Williams is a vegetarian, along with several body building champions!

I also think it’s harsh on animals to eat them and some might say it’s just the circle of life but we eat so much of it and we should really cut down on it. I mean 315 million tons of meat are consumed every year by the human population! Another fact is that Because of global warming our planet is heating but if you eat like a vegetarian then you produce less green house gases.

My next paragraph is persuasive, I am going to try to convince you to at least try being a vegetarian, the first reason is because it keeps you healthy. You don’t consume any of the bad meats such as red meats which causes bowel cancer. Also did you know an oxford study shows that on average a vegetarian out lives a meat eater by around 6 years?Like sometimes it feels like this is how much some people care about animals. For my final reason, you might just like being a vegetarian. It might just be a fun project that you try for a week then go back. Did you know tht 31 percent of NZ people are reducing their meat intake, and 3 percent are already vegetarians .

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2669151571218613152.post-64437324564031976972020-08-21T09:51:00.000+12:002020-08-21T09:51:01.802+12:00Why does it rain so much on the West Coast
We were learning about the water cycle and why it rains so much on the west coast of NZ here is my DLO on why it rains so much on the West Coast.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2669151571218613152.post-32479432795959167842020-05-07T13:08:00.001+12:002020-05-07T13:08:33.485+12:00football campOne of our writing prompts was to wright about how we think camp should stay on the week we thought in the first place instead of a week later, because I have football camp that week.

You know how the teacher is having a class vote to see if we should go on school camp one week later than planned so that we are the only school there? Well I think that it should stay on the week we originally planned, because I have football training camp the other week. You should vote to keep it on the same week because of these reasons:

First of all, other people might also have made plans and they too could be getting messed up if we change the week. So I might not be the only one who has made plans which are getting messed up by the school camp changing weeks.

Secondly the other schools probably won’t even get in our way. The schools will have planned it so that each would do the activities at different times and not be holding the others up. Everyone is really excited to go to camp, so the sooner we go the happier the kids will be.

In conclusion, I think that we should keep school camp on the same week because it won’t mess up anyone's plans, and the other schools won’t get in our way.
